This is my concern for "vibe coding" as well. It's already bad enough that we have "agile" and other methodologies that produce crap fast enough to satisfy the corporate heads, but anything that minimizes the design time - and especially design for usability, reliability and security - is bad.

Vibe coding is great for hackers who just want to run off a program for personal use or one-time use. Vibe writing could be great for writers who just want some idea generation to their minds. But as a replacement for the actual process of system design and writing, it's a bad concept.

By the way, Sudowrite tells you in the name: it's "pseudo" writing.

If I don’t know anything about writing or coding why would I trust my gut to write or code? I might somehow get this wooden airplane off the ground, but it’s not going far, and I might not survive the landing.

Would also like a side by side. I certainly won’t waste any time with it. ChatGPT and I do so well together. $20 version. Haven’t heard of Notebook LM. Enjoyed your analysis.

In Cajun cooking, they have this concept of the “Holy Trinity”: Onion, carrots and green peppers. In writing, I’ve found that Claude, ChatGPT and NotebookLM are the “Trinity.” Please check out my substack… I think you’ll find a lot of helpful advice.

Also tried it and gave it up in a heartbeat. Thanks for sharing the samples but it would be even more helpful to compare them side by side with how YOU would actually write them! ⚡️Would be curious to hear more about how you use Claude and especially Notebook LM in your writing process…

I’m sharing my use of Claude and NotebookLM in the posts under “The Writer’s Process.” I’m also writing a long story (feels like it might be a novel) while I do all of this… I’ll be sharing that in serial form over the next month or so (so you’ll be able to see how I’d actually write these). Thank you for the comment!
