Guest posts, newsletter recommendations and about pages are incredibly valuable parts of the whole Substack experience.
Just this morning, Michael Spencer hosted an amazing overview of the Deepseek conversation by Jurgen Gravestein. Jurgen's overview of the Deepseek conversation included first-rate technical explainers that made complex AI concepts accessible to writers.
But here's what really got me excited: Following Jurgen's work led me to his newsletter “Teaching Computers How to Talk.” Turns out, we share a connection through the Conversation Design Institute, where I studied and received a degree in AI conversation. Finding writers who think deeply about AI, writing, and culture in similar ways is invaluable as we navigate this changing landscape.
But Wait! There’s More!
Jurgen’s recommendations led me to two other like-minded writers:
- **AI Kicks**: Their piece “When AI Eats Itself” brilliantly compares AI generating content for content's sake to Mad Cow disease. If you're wrestling with questions about AI's impact on creative work, this is must-read analysis.
- **Stephen Moore's Trend Mill**: Offers a refreshing defense of writing for writing's sake while embracing AI tools. His delightful take on the irony of Open AI complaining about DeepSeek "stealing" IP is both insightful and delightfully sharp.
Let's Build This Community
I'm actively seeking other newsletters and writers working at the intersection of:
- AI tools and creative writing
- Ethics in AI-assisted writing
- Future of storytelling and AI
- Writers adapting to AI tools
- Technical AI concepts explained for writers
Whether you're writing about these topics or know someone who is, drop a recommendation in the comments. Or if you're interested in guest posting, let me know what unique perspective you'd bring to our community.
Thank you so much for your kind words 🤝
Thanks, Fred, for sharing these hidden gems! Well, hidden to me, at least. 😀
